Basel, Switzerland — 25 November 2025
Quantum Optima is pleased to announce that we were formally invited to participate in the QAI Ventures Deep-Tech Pre-Selection Day, held on the uptownBasel innovation campus. This prestigious programme brings together a highly curated group of promising quantum and AI ventures from across Europe and beyond.
The startups selected for participation were chosen after several months of evaluation, technical interviews, and ongoing screening by the QAI Ventures team. The invitation represents a significant recognition of Quantum Optima’s technical progress in its solution “Quantum Energy”, its product’s maturity, and its relevance to Europe’s evolving deep-tech landscape.
Presenting TRL-7 Technology with Real-Market Validation
During the event, Quantum Optima presented its Quantum Energy TRL-7 hybrid optimisation engine for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), built and validated using real HEnEx and ENTSO-E market data.
We showcased our:
- Production-ready classical optimiser, capable of multi-market arbitrage in day-ahead and intraday markets
- QUBO modelling engine for constraint-driven optimisation problems
- Pauli-operator transformation pipeline, enabling direct integration with quantum algorithms
- Early QAOA research experiments, executed using IBM Quantum Runtime
- Hybrid architecture designed to combine classical solvers with emerging quantum capabilities
This reinforces Quantum Optima’s position as one of the few European ventures building a practical, near-term pathway from classical optimisation to quantum-enhanced energy-market decision systems— and the only one of its kind in Greece.”.
Strengthening Our Presence in Europe’s Deep-Tech Ecosystem
Participation in QAI Ventures’ Pre-Selection Day provided Quantum Optima with the opportunity to engage in focused discussions with:
- Quantum hardware experts contributing to Europe’s advanced quantum-systems development
- Applied AI researchers working at the frontier of optimisation and scientific computing
- Institutional investors and venture partners active in deep-tech and industrial innovation
- IP and regulatory specialists guiding the formation of complex, research-driven technology companies
- Energy-sector advisors familiar with Swiss and European market infrastructures
As part of the programme, our team also had the opportunity to visit a live, enterprise-grade quantum computer installed on the Basel campus — one of the first deployments of this architecture outside the United States.
This experience offered valuable insight into the operational environment surrounding next-generation quantum technologies.
These engagements further strengthened Quantum Optima’s connections within Europe’s scientific and industrial community and underscored the strategic relevance of our work.
A Significant Milestone for Quantum Optima
Regardless of the final selection outcome, the invitation to Basel marks an important milestone in Quantum Optima’s journey. It highlights the maturity of our technology, the depth of our research roadmap, and the alignment of our mission with Europe’s broader push toward advanced optimisation solutions for the energy transition.
Quantum Optima remains committed to delivering world-class optimisation technology that bridges state-of-the-art classical methods with emerging quantum capabilities, supporting the evolution toward smarter, more resilient energy systems across Europe.
